Your gift helps us link arms with children and caregivers touched by the foster care system, ensuring they receive the tangible items, support, and connections to resources they need and deserve. Every dollar moves us closer to a community where no child walks this journey without dignity, care, and hope.

A Hub for Hope is a transformational campaign that will change the way our city cares for children and caregivers experiencing foster, kinship, adoptive, and reunifying care.

Your support will help us expand into a true community hub with an expanded free boutique, a kid zone (including a sensory sensitive space), monthly support groups, and a joy-filled space for private family visitations. Together, we can give every child and caregiver the dignity, support, and connection they deserve.

Your generosity brings this vision to life and helps make our mission possible not only in this building, but in the hearts and homes giving their yes to a child in need.

Your monthly gift helps us to provide the services below and ensure that every child we serve experiences the support and dignity they deserve.

  • When a child enters foster care, they may arrive with little or no clean, properly fitting clothing. Their clothing may also be removed for investigation purposes. Gap Packs bridge the child to the emergency curbside order we provide, ensuring they have essentials right away and the dignity they deserve.

Each Gap Pack includes a simple outfit, a pajama set, two pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks, and an extra bag for the clothes they arrived in if needed.

  • Caregivers or caseworkers can place an emergency order for a child entering the foster care system, and a custom package is quickly prepared specifically for that child.

Each order is tailored to the child and caregiver’s needs but always includes a brand new rolling duffel bag, a week and a half of clothing, hygiene items, a stuffed animal, a toy or teen gift card, a pair of shoes, socks, underwear or diapers, and more.

  • At Honey From The Rock, our private appointments allow children to shop, or receive custom curbside orders in a personalized, supportive setting.

Caregivers are paired with a foster parent who guides them, ensuring every child’s needs and preferences are honored. Every child’s first order includes everything listed in our emergency order—a brand new rolling duffel bag, clothing, hygiene items, stuffed animal, toy or teen gift card, shoes, socks, underwear or diapers, and more. For subsequent orders, the only change is a reusable bag in place of the duffel.

Families can visit the Closet up to four times a year, giving children the dignity of choice and the joy of being truly seen with every order.

  • For many children in foster care, birthdays are a day they never get to celebrate. Many youth aging out of foster care have never experienced a birthday with cake, gifts, or a simple “Happy Birthday.” At Honey From The Rock, our Beeday Bundles change that by giving each child a celebration all their own.

Each bundle includes a brand new toy, a brand new outfit, a general birthday decoration kit, a card to personalize, and 12 cupcakes if desired. These bundles let children feel seen, celebrated, and cherished on their special day, creating memories that last long after the candles are blown out.

  • Our monthly support groups will provide a space for families to connect, learn, and find encouragement.

Each session will begin with children sharing a meal with their caregiver, then enjoying playtime in the Kid Zone with background-checked and trauma-informed volunteers while adults meet.

These groups will give caregivers practical tools, emotional support, and a sense of community, all while children are engaged, safe, and cared for.

  • Some families are only given a meeting room to visit, but we aim to do more by offering a warm, joy-filled space in our Kid Zone.

Here, children can play, siblings separated by foster care can reconnect, and families can spend meaningful, memorable time together in a setting that encourages bonding and joy.

  • Our Foster Care Community Hub will also host quarterly textured haircare trainings and special events that bring our client community together. We’ll be a space for local businesses and groups to gather and learn more about the needs of the children in their community.

  • "We got a call last week that a previous foster child of ours was now back to needing a home. My heart said yes, but I was apprehensive to have 6 kids. Having this place to lean on gave me the confidence to say yes"

    Foster Momma, Morgan

  • "These are the kind of organizations that are most needed in our city to aid children and families. I cry every time that I go to see these ladies. It is such a genuine feeling"

Family advocate Kim, who has picked up 30+ bundles

  • "As a new caregiver to a teenage girl it can be scary and very overwhelming. Honey from the Rock made us feel all ease and got my 'cub' hooked up with so much stuff to make her feel comfortable in her new surroundings"

    Kinship caregiver, Sharon

  • "This place is amazing! We were welcomed with a smile on arrival and then had so much fun beginning to end! It is very well organized. This is such a great resource for foster families!"

    Foster momma, Karen

  • We recently welcomed newborn twin foster placements, and HFTR went above and beyond to help us get what we needed even tracking down some specialty baby items just for them. Thank you for being such a blessing to our family. We’re so grateful for you!

    Foster Momma, Marissa

  • Whether it be a prayer, words of encouragement, good gift card or a car seat (and everything in between!!!) they are willing to help at a moments notice. Such a wonderful, kind, genuine group of people!

    Foster Momma, Sarah

FAQs

  • This expansion is needed because the demand for support continues to grow and families deserve a space that matches the dignity we want every child to feel. Since opening on January 8 we have served over 700 children and our current footprint cannot keep up with the volume or the depth of care we aim to provide.

The new hub will give families privacy during appointments, safe and reliable childcare while they shop, room for monthly support groups, and a warm space for biological families working toward reunification. It allows us to strengthen the support system around every child who walks through our doors.

A large portion of the children we serve are either on the autism spectrum, or due to trauma exhibit symptoms that would benefit from a sensory sensitive space. This area alone will add a layer of care that is essential for our operations.

  • Yes. Honey From The Rock is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and all gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law.

  • Children and caregivers in foster, kinship, adoptive and reunifying care throughout Northeast Ohio. We also are proud to come alongside youth that have aged out of the system within the Bridges program!

The goal is also to support biological families working toward reunification by providing a warm, private room for visits within our Kid Zone.
